Permisol cream is used to treat scabies and crab lice (Pediculosis) infestations. Since scabies can spread to all family members, it is important to treat everyone in the household simultaneously.
Use this medication as directed by a registered physician.
Permethrin is approved only for topical use. Limited human data exist on its systemic absorption or kinetics after skin application. Approximately 0.5% of the applied amount is absorbed within 48 hours. Any absorbed permethrin undergoes rapid metabolism, primarily by ester hydrolysis in the liver, with metabolites excreted via urine.

Permite cream acts by paralyzing the mites, a scabies-causing organism, by damaging their nerve cell membrane. Thus, leading to the death of mites and the spread of disease.
✔️ Side Effects of Permisol 5% Cream
Some individuals may experience skin discomfort, such as burning, stinging, or tingling after application. Temporary irritation, including redness, swelling, eczema, rash, or itching, may also occur.
✔️ Missed & Overdosdage of Permisol 5% Cream
- As this medicine is meant for external application, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital. If you have applied extra quantities of it wipe the out excess of the medicine with tissue or cotton.
- If you have missed applying for this medicine, apply it as soon as possible. Do not over-apply for this medicine just to compensate for the missed dose.

- It is meant for external use only.
- Apply this cream as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
- It should not be applied on broken skin or near the eyes.
- Always apply the cream to clean and dry skin.
- Always wash your body after 8 - 10 hours of application of the cream.
✔️ Recommended Duration of Treatment:
- Adults and children over 12 years: Use an entire tube.
- Children aged 6–12 years: Use up to half a tube.
- Children aged 1–5 years: Use up to a quarter of a tube.
- Children aged 2 months–1 year: Use up to one-eighth of a tube.
- Children under 2 months: Dosage has not been established.

Ensure the skin is clean, cool, and dry before applying Permisol cream. Avoid taking a hot shower or bath beforehand.
- For adults and children over 2 years: Apply the cream evenly to the entire body from the neck down. Rub it in lightly until it disappears, ensuring all areas are covered, including between fingers and toes, under nails, and on the soles of the feet.
- For children under 2 years: Additionally, apply to the face, neck, ears, and scalp, avoiding the areas near the eyes and mouth.
Leave the cream on for at least 8 hours before washing it off. If any area is washed during this time (e.g., hands), reapply to the affected area. A second application may be necessary after 7 days, following your doctor’s advice.

Using corticosteroids to treat eczema-like symptoms should be avoided before applying Permisol cream, as corticosteroids may suppress the immune response and worsen the scabies infestation.
✔️ Contraindications
- Permethrin is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to permethrin or pyrethroid components.
- Healthcare providers frequently handling permethrin should wear gloves to prevent irritation to the hands.
✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation
- In the absence of adequate studies in pregnant women, use during pregnancy should only occur under medical supervision.
- It is unclear if permethrin is excreted in breast milk; therefore, it should be avoided in breastfeeding mothers unless deemed necessary by a doctor.
✔️ Precautions & Warnings
- Scabies infestation may cause itching, swelling, and redness, which may temporarily worsen during treatment with Permisol cream.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If the cream accidentally enters the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water immediately.
